C. Ellis Ott papers, 1926-1954 (bulk 1930-1947).

The papers primarily concern Ott's judgeship of the First Circuit Court of Appeals and consist of abstracts of testimony, correspondence, dockets of cases, opinions, reviews, views, notes, and other items concerning cases appealed and tried. Papers for his judgeship of the 22nd Judicial District Court consist of opinions. Personal papers consist of lesson assignments and research papers for home study courses at the University of Chicago (1926-1929), correspondence for his book "The American Citizen in Government" (1938-1943), and papers pertaining to his civic activities and fund raising for the American Red Cross (1933-1944).
